The owner, Andrew Lutz, was born into the hospitality industry, with a long family legacy serving others. The pictures below show him starting off in his grandparent's bakery at a very young age. You could say it is in his blood.
He’s worked for his family businesses, as well as started his own successful restaurant and Thyme 2 Cater - his own full-blown catering company.
Andy brings exquisite culinary experience and knowledge. Combine that
with the uncanny ability to throw a wonderful and memorable event and
you have the recipe for a great thyme.
For over a decade, Andy has embarked on several business ventures including a restaurant in Winston-Salem, Event Rentals of NC, Event Thyme @ The Factory, and Thyme 2 Cater. Also, he has 10+ years of corporate experience, which comes in handy when running the business side of Thyme 2 Cater.
Andrew grew up in what is known as “the little restaurant that mushroomed” in the rural area of AuGres, Michigan. In 1966, his grandparents (Rudy and Edna Lutz) opened Lutz’s, a small facility that could only seat a handful of people. Several years later, their son, Victor, acquired the business and expanded operations. By the early 1980s, the facility was a full blown bakery, restaurant, and catering facility that served thousands of people on a weekly basis. Throughout Andrew’s life, he worked alongside his brothers and sisters and managed several areas of the business and eventually helped to open and facilitate other family ventures, such as an amusement park and two hotels.
Andy applies all the knowledge he gleaned from his family businesses and his own experiences to operate Thyme 2 Cater and Event Thyme @ The Factory.
He knows the dedication it takes to create a successful business and event.
Andrew prides himself on continuing his family legacy of providing memorable events and moments to all he encounters and serves. He looks forward to sharing his family's legacy with his children as they get older.
