Andrew grew up in what is known as “the little Restaurant that Mushroomed” in a rural area of N.E. Michigan. In 1966 his grandparents (Rudy and Edna Lutz) opened Lutz’s, a small facility that could only seat a handful of people. It was located on US-23 in AuGres Michigan. Several years later, their son, Victor Lutz acquired the business and helped to expand operations. By the early 1980’s the facility was a full blown Bakery, Restaurant, and Catering facility that served thousands of people on a weekly basis. Throughout Andrew’s life, he along with his brothers and sisters, worked and managed several areas of the business and eventually helped to open and facilitate other family ventures such as an amusement park, and two hotels. Over the last several years, Jennifer and Andrew have embarked on several business adventures including their restaurant, Southern Smoke Eatery & Tavern in Winston-Salem.
Today they use their knowledge along with family resources to operate Thyme 2 Cater. Handling Corporate functions, weddings, graduations, and almost any type of special function, Andrew is sure to employ his vast knowledge and skill of how to host a great event. “We have done them all…from weddings in the several hundreds, to corporate luncheons as small as 15.” Andrew meets with the clients for tastings and oversees the events to make sure everything is running smoothly. Jennifer handles the back office emails, quotes, contracts, and scheduling for the business. You will be working closely with both of them to ensure that your event is a success.
